Carla received her BA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. She is currently working toward licensure under the supervision of Dr. Carmen Morrison.

Approach to Therapy

Carla has had a lifelong passion to serve and help others. She provides a nurturing space to walk alongside others as they share their story. She works to build a trusting relationship with each person to find true healing that will allow them the freedom to use their strengths and choose to create a full, meaningful, joy-filled life with a purpose.  She believes that so many suffer in isolation or in avoidance behaviors that get us stuck. Once you decide to reach out for help there is so much hope. People are wired for a mindset of love and connection to others. Helping people know that they are worthy and capable of striving for their highest potential is the most beautiful gift ever.

She has worked with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families that are struggling with any kind of life or dealing with various conditions and symptoms. She is very empathetic and provides a safe space to collaboratively help individualize a plan that will address the needs of the whole person. She uses a person-centered approach, trauma-focused, attachment history (attachment wounds), psychodynamic, Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused, family systems, Relational Life Therapy, mindfulness, and play therapy.
